10 Bedroom Wall Art Ideas For Men

In this collection of 10 bedroom wall art ideas for men, I showcase my realistic pencil drawings that I think will appeal to a male audience.

The idea is to find a range of images that women will like and appeal to their menfolk. My subjects include a deer stag, tigers, male lions, male great apes, rhinos, and more. You get the theme. I’ve added a couple of pet subjects as alternatives to the wildlife bias.

These drawings were all originally hand-drawn by me, from my own references. I have inserted them in bedroom mockups for context and inspiration.

Enjoy.

“You don’t always have to travel far to find iconic animal subjects. I photographed this red deer stag in Regents park in London during the rutting season.
The park is a former royal hunting reserve in the heart of the capital and the native deer have been resident for many hundreds of years”

“This is a white tiger going for a swim, yet another subject from Singapore Zoo. There are no white tigers in the wild. They are not a separate species, as many people think, but a white form of Bengal tiger.
They were once found around Rewa in Northern India but only occurred as a result of in-breeding. They are of no conservation concern but are undeniably beautiful animals”

“One of my earliest attempts using mechanical pencils. I drew this bad boy long before I’d seen wild tigers in India. This is a Sumatran tiger from London Zoo and extremely endangered subspecies.
The closest I have some to a wild Sumatran tiger was finding a footprint and scat (poo) when I was hiking in Gunung Leuser National Park. Its the largest tract of forest remaining on the island and one of its last strongholds.”

“Amongst the smartest birds in the animal kingdom, cockatoos ooze character. I encountered this bird on a diving trip in Indonesia. It was a family pet and I took the opportunity to take a few snapshots.
I was drawn to the texture of the feathers. It took a while to figure out how to render a life-like effect. I think I succeeded. I like this parrot profile.”

“I’ve seen so many wild and semi-wild orangutans that, sometimes, I forget where I saw them. I think this was the big male in Semenggoh Park in Sarawak, Borneo.
It’s semi-wild like so many orangutans. Native forest has been stripped in much of Borneo and many rescued orangutans end up living in patches of forests set aside as a home.”

“This is a real Siamese cat, not a pure bred but a Siamese none the less. I met her in Thailand and you can’t get more authentic than that, she’s a true native.
I was staying in a beachside guest house and this was the owners’ cat. She’s doing what all respectable cats do, waiting for her fair share of my dinner.
It’s not obvious from this angle but she was heavily pregnant and so emotionally had me over a barrel. I gave generously.”’”

“No not a leopard, it’s a jaguar. How do you tell the difference? Well, the easiest way is to look at the markings. Leopards have rosettes or rings of spots, where as Jaguars have dots within the rings.
I’ve yet to see a wild jaguar. This dramatic composition was pure luck. I was passing the enclosure in Singapore Zoo at snack time. The jaguar was about to leap into the water to grab a treat”

“This is a southern white rhino I saw in a large enclosure within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. I’m not 100% sure but I think this lady was being acclimatized before being released.
She was certainly healthy enough and hopefully, I’ve managed to recreate a sense of the heat of the African sun as she sought some relief in the shade.”

“A very superior lion is looking down his nose; it’s a classic pose and makes a striking image. I saw him in the lion park near Harare in Zimbabwe, he wasn’t wild but at least he was in Africa.
I managed to capture this moment because I was in the right place at the right time. There was a roar of another lion in the background and this guy’s head shot up in alarm. I caught the moment and this is the result.”

‘Best Foot Forward’ A Pencil Drawing by Kevin Hayler

“I drew this elephant with the intention of moving away from the tight style I’ve adopted over the last decade. Photorealism is all well and good but a more ‘painterly’ approach has more movement and emotion.
This elephant was a rescued orphan finding a new life in the Sheldrick Trust near Nairobi, Kenya. They all return to the wild eventually”

10 Bedroom Wall Art Ideas For Men: Final Thoughts

Let’s be honest, men can be challenging to please when it comes to home decor, and these 10 bedroom wall art ideas for the men in your life are intended to spark your imagination.

Without wishing to over-egg the pudding, the animals featured in my drawings are inherently masculine in their symbolism.

Big cats, great apes, and stags exude strength, stability, and a certain wildness that resonates with many men.

They also appeal to the women in their lives, albeit that much of the symbolism is viewed as tongue-in-cheek.
